Christine Lam

Christine has always loved trying different sports and group fitness activities growing up. She’s joined the swim team, volleyball team, track team, drill teams and so forth throughout her high school and middle school years. After college, she explored different yoga classes, such as vinyasa, hatha, bikram, acroyoga, etc. Then there was crossfit, kickboxing, cycling, weight training, but nothing really stuck. Then came barre. Her curiosity with barre has led her to yearn for more than being a participant in class. With that, she went for her barre certification and began her journey into Group Fitness as a Barre Intensity certified instructor.

Lisa found her way to barre when she experienced lower back pain, recommended by a physical therapist.  She started taking barre classes while living in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2013. From the beginning, she was hooked on the workout that gets more challenging with more experience.  After several years of taking barre classes and strengthening her core, Lisa has been essentially pain-free in her lower back. She is motivated to continue working on her barre practice while encouraging others to find inspiration at the barre.

After moving to Manhattan, Kansas and finding limited barre class options, Lisa jumped at the opportunity for Barre Intensity instructor training in nearby Kansas City.  When not working out at the Little Apple Pilates Co., Lisa is a professor at Kansas State University, where she focuses her teaching and research in the areas of higher education and college athletics.  A proud native Texan, Lisa lives by the motto “learning never goes out of style!”

Currently living in Coeur d' Alene, Idaho with my husband, two kids and two dogs. I found Barre back in 2012 when I was searching for an alternative to physical therapy. The classes had me instantly hooked and after a couple years, I knew that becoming an instructor was something that I wanted to pursue, and in 2014 received my first Barre instructor certification and began teaching at a local studio in town.
