Mica O'Dell

Mica started her career in the fitness industry at the age of 16.  She was an athlete growing up and group fitness was just another way to keep her moving.  She fell in love with group fitness as a participant and then received her first certification so she could be an intern instructor.  She quickly learned the amount of outside work and practice that went in to teaching classes but also learned that the reward was worth it.  Making a positive impact on the lives of participants filled her heart with joy.

Movement has always been a part of Shawna's life, growing up she was a cheerleader and then she found her passion for dance. She danced on her high school dance line and then with worship dance teams after graduation. Shawna was honored to choreograph most of the pieces during her time on her West Virginia worship dance team, allowing her to find her voice through movement. Then she moved into modern dance when she joined a worship dance team in San Diego.

After she stopped dancing Shawna fell in love with ballet-based barre workouts after searching for a way to stay active after a cross-country move to San Diego in 2007. Shawna spent 6 years at the barre as a client, enjoying the mix of cardio & sculpting each class had to offer! A 2013 move back to the East Coast prompted her to follow her dreams and open a barre franchise of her own to share her love of barre with others. It was during this time Shawna realized her love of being in the studio, teaching and educating others.
